Heat so hot you can’t be cool

shut the door and run the fan

clothes sticking like glue

weak as an unworked muscle

sweat dripping down your cheek

like a segment of the Twilight Zone

Sun peeks through the window

with a thought of doing harm

children sitting aimlessly

as not to move

headache fed by the rays

don’t move or run

just melt like butter

watching evaporation take place

Heat so hot you can’t be cool
