What does having confidence in God look like?
Psalm 37 says to “Trust in the Lord and do good;
Dwell in the land and feed on His faithfulness.
Delight yourself also in the Lord,
And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Commit your way to the Lord,
Trust also in Him,
And He shall bring it to pass.
He shall bring forth your righteousness as the light,
And your justice as the noonday.
Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for Him.”
When we look back with new eyes and discover “All things work together for your good.” We watch and see that we can look forward with confidence with God!
We have heard it said ; “Practice makes perfect.” Practice does not make perfect. Especially when you are practicing the wrong way. It is more like “Practice makes permanent.” So we should practice it the right way.
Our confidence and faith is the same. People always say; “You need confidence” or “Just have faith, and you can do it.”
That idea is incomplete. We look at, what do we have our faith in? What are we trusting in? If I walk into a room you are in, and I’m about to sit in a chair that is about to collapse in a good breeze and you would yell and shout: “STOP!” I had faith or confidence in a broken chair.
